Code of Conduct & Privacy Policy
To ensure a private and safe environment for all users on the Xyphen Network, the following rules apply. You are expected to follow these rules regardless of whether it's private or not. If we receive reports of you performing actions that go against the guidelines listed here, you will be investigated, and potentially suspended from the network permanently.
MATRIX INSTANCE RULES:
-
No Harassment Rule 1
Do not target individuals with hateful, malicious, or repetitive unwanted communications. When a user requests that you stop, you comply.
-
Malicious Flooding & Spam Rule 2
Use the service for communication, not for bot-driven marketing or flooding. Don't waste our bandwidth.
-
Anonymity Preservation Rule 3
Do not attempt to de-anonymize other users or leak private metadata. Just because you can, does not mean you should.
-
Illegal Material Rule 4
Do not host, index, or distribute illicit material, including CSAM, extreme non-consensual violence (gore), or malware.
-
Federation Metadata Leakage Rule 5
Once you join a room hosted on a remote homeserver, or invite remote users into local rooms, your encrypted message metadata copies to that infrastructure. We do not control external homeservers and cannot redact or wipe data beyond our own network.
-
Local Room Sovereignty Rule 6
Room creators own and moderate their spaces. Network admins will not intervene in personal room conflicts unless a network rule is broken and reported with cryptographic proof, such as signed event IDs.
CONSEQUENCES & ENFORCEMENT:
-
Investigation & Reporting Enforcement
If you are caught or reported breaching these boundaries, we will investigate. We don't issue infinite "last chances." If we find out you are maliciously disrupting the network, you are out.
-
Right to Defederation Enforcement
We reserve the absolute right to sever federation links entirely with any remote homeserver that maliciously attacks our infrastructure, serves as a source for spam cascades, or indexes illegal content.
FILESHARE INSTANCE RULES:
-
Asset Restrictions Rule 1
Uploading active executables, system command binaries, obfuscated scripts, or macro-enabled system hooks (.exe, .msi, .bat, .vbs, etc.) is prohibited.
-
Malicious Flooding & Spam Rule 2
Do not spam the service with multiple requests to upload assets, exhaust the backend, or slow down the service for other users.
-
Illegal Material Rule 3
Do not host, index, or distribute illicit material, including CSAM, extreme non-consensual violence (gore), or malware.
CONSEQUENCES & ENFORCEMENT:
-
Automated & Manual Purges Enforcement
Any files breaching asset type or legality rules will be dropped entirely without notice. If your account is found to be automated for stress-testing or scraping our endpoints, your access will be blocked permanently.
-
Asset Dropping Enforcement
When verified legal takedowns or proof of malware/CSAM are presented, targeted assets are purged entirely, without notice.
PRIVACY POLICY:
-
Data Collection Philosophy Section 1
There's no true way to fully make a users IP address not log. Our infrastructure requires basic network routing to function, meaning connection metrics pass through the system stack during active sessions. We do not maintain persistent, structured tracking archives of your identity, but we are not going to lie to you and claim network headers magically disappear before hitting our software.
-
Service Data Retention Section 2
For the Matrix instance, your end-to-end encrypted messages stay internal to your account synchronization, encrypted at rest. For Fileshare, your uploaded files remain on the system until manually expired or dropped via enforcement actions. We reserve the right to remove any data, at any time. Data which has been purged will not, and cannot be restored. Once it's deleted, it's deleted.
-
Third Parties & Disclosure Section 3
There are no advertisers, third-party analytics scripts, or hidden data brokers linked to the Xyphen Network. We do not sell data... mostly because we do not have any data to sell in the first place.
COMPLIANCE & CONTACT:
-
Abuse Routing Contact
To flag direct network rule violations, exploits, or illegal content, please present all of the proof you can directly to our abuse Matrix alias: @abuse:xyphen.org.
-
Policy Infrastructure Enforcement
We reserve the right to alter these points as the platform grows. Continued use of our service updates your agreement to these protocols automatically. If you disagree, offboard your assets.
